Harmony School of Innovation-Fort Worth Celebrates Special Olympics Unified Champion School Honors

Harmony School of Innovation-Fort Worth will celebrate a major milestone in its commitment to inclusion when the campus receives both National and Texas State Special Olympics Unified Champion School banners on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

The ceremony will take place from 4:30 to 5 p.m. at Harmony School of Innovation-Fort Worth, 8100 S. Hulen St. in Fort Worth.

HSI-Fort Worth is the only school in the Harmony Public Schools network and the only charter school in the region to hold both designations. The campus earned the recognition within three years of launching its Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools program, which brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together to train, compete and build a more inclusive school community.

The banner presentation will include a celebration of the campus' Special Olympics team and the students who have helped build the program. The event will also feature the unveiling of the National and Texas State banners.
