Today's riddle: What has 2 arms and a neck but no head? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. FC Dallas Announces Kick Childhood Cancer Month Initiatives (fcdallas.com) — Frisco residents will see FC Dallas spotlight childhood cancer awareness this month, starting with a Sept. 3 player visit to patients at Children's Medical Center Plano. The club's Sept. 12 Kick Childhood Cancer Night at Toyota Stadium will feature special jerseys, giveaways, and artwork, with proceeds from merchandise and September jersey sales benefiting Children's Health programs.
2. Frisco updates design, operating plans for proposed animal shelter (communityimpact.com) — Frisco officials are refining plans for a new animal shelter that would cost about $23 million to build and employ up to a dozen staff, with an estimated $85,000 net annual operating cost. The proposed public‑private facility would offer rescue, spay/neuter, microchipping, and veterinary surgical services, adding dozens of dog and cat kennels and positioning Frisco as a leader in local animal care.
3. Sod Poodles' Furious Late Comeback Falls Short in Frisco (newschannel10.com) — Frisco baseball fans saw the RoughRiders outlast the Amarillo Sod Poodles 12–9 at Riders Field after a huge eight-run fourth inning put the home team ahead for good. Amarillo mounted a late surge with home runs and clutch hits, but Frisco's early power and grand slam proved just enough to even the series.
4. Karmelo Anthony's Family Wants $250K From Fans to Fund Murder Conviction Appeal (globemagazine.com) — The family of Karmelo Anthony, convicted in the fatal 2025 stabbing of student Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet, is asking supporters to raise $250,000 for his appeal. After a Collin County judge denied a new trial, they argue suppressed evidence and prior agreements between lawyers kept jurors from hearing key context about both teens' pasts.
