• Pedestrian Killed on I-30 TEXpress Ramp Near MacArthur Boulevard in Grand Prairie (irvingweekly.com) — A pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday night while walking along the eastbound I-30 TEXpress entrance ramp near MacArthur Boulevard in Grand Prairie after their vehicle became disabled, according to police. Grand Prairie police and fire crews responded, the driver stayed and cooperated, and investigators are still working to determine what caused the breakdown and crash while the medical examiner identifies the victim.
• Week 7 Fort Worth-area high school football scores — as they come in (star-telegram.com) — Grand Prairie fans can celebrate a 37–7 win over Irving Nimitz, while South Grand Prairie rolled past Irving 54–6 in Week 7 action. The roundup also lists tonight's and Saturday's Fort Worth-area matchups, helping local fans track district races and plan which games to catch.
• North Texas police chiefs defend license plate readers, call for stronger rules (nbcdfw.com) — Grand Prairie Police Chief Daniel Scesney joined fellow North Texas chiefs to defend automated license plate readers while calling for tougher safeguards and penalties for misuse. Their roundtable stressed that the technology helps find stolen cars and missing people, but needs clear statewide rules, strict auditing and better public understanding to balance safety with privacy concerns.
