Students and band staff were greeted with applause and greetings on December 14 as they kicked off their trip to the state competition with a parade through the HCISD administrative offices parking lot.

The Harlingen High and Harlingen High South High Schools marching bands have earned a spot in the 2020 Texas State UIL Marching Band Championship.

Bands will compete for top honors at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Tuesday, December 15, against 18 other 6A class schools across the state. Harlingen High School will perform at 12:34 pm and Harlingen High South High School at 3:41 pm

This is the sixth time in history that both schools have advanced together. Harlingen High School has advanced every year since 1998.
