At Tuesday’s board meeting, the HCISD Board of Trustees approved to keep Blue Cross Blue Shield as the district’s medical insurance provider and approved to change its pharmacy benefit manager to Prime which is embedded with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Harlingen CISD currently has Express Scripts as its pharmacy benefits administrator. Blue Cross Blue Shield and Prime will reduce primary care provider and specialty copays by $5 and eliminate the current MD Live copay, not including HDHP and HSA plans. Changes will begin on January 1.
