1 Dead In Westridge Street Shooting

Police said a 26-year-old man died at the scene of the shooting.

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2877 Westridge Street about 8:25 a.m. on Sunday (February 23).

The victim, Ronnie Ellison, Jr., 26, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Tyler and B. Evans reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to the above address after witnesses called 9-1-1 to report finding a body in a nearby field. Further investigation determined Mr. Ellison had been shot at an apartment complex parking lot. He reportedly ran down Bartell Street before collapsing in a vacant parking lot.

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
