2 Arrested in Spring Hit And Run Fatality

Deputies arrested and charged Phillip Trahan and Angel Escobar for their involvement in a fatal hit and run accident Friday morning.

SPRING, TX — Two men were arrested after the both fled the siced of an accident that claimed the life of a woman in her 60s.

The accident happened on Friday at about 9:30 a.m. in the On March 23, 4100 block of Spring Creek Drive in reference to a hit and run accident.

Witnesses told deputy constable's that a bicyclist was hit by a vehicle that never stopped.

The woman who was hit by the vehicle, died of her injuries.

Deputies found the vehicle involved in the accident crashed in a field nearby, and found that the driver and his passenger ran into a nearby park.

Deputies cordoned off Pundt Park at Spring Creek to search for the suspects involved in the crash.

After a brief search of the area, deputies found and arrested a man identified as Phillip Trahan.

During the investigation, deputies noticed that Trahan appeared to be intoxicated.

“Phillip Trahan has been charged with Felony Failure to Stop and Render Aid and Felony Intoxication Manslaughter. Upon completion of filing the charges he will be booked into the Harris County Jail,” Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said.

Deputies also arrested a second man they identified as Angel Escobar.

Investigators said Escobar had been a passenger in the car with Trahan, and that he failed to report the accident to investigators.

He was charged with Failure to Report a Felony, and booked with Trahan into the Harris County Jail.
