66 Dogs Rescued From Magnolia Pet Facility

HOUSTON, TX —The Houston SPCA rescued 66 dogs from Ruff N Fluff in Magnolia, Texas on Thursday following a recent invfestigation.

The facility was reported to Montgomery County Animal Control and investigated by a Houston SPCA Cruelty Investigator on May 4 for cruel confinement issues.

SPCA officials described the conditons as "squalid" which had dogs confined in small, unsanitary cages, some filled with urine and feces.

SPCA officials said notice was immediately given that Ruff N Fluff needed to remedy the poor environmental conditions.

However, SPCA officials said Ruff N Fluff faailed to show any improvement in the animal’s living conditions.

Houston SPCA and Montgomery County Animal Control obtained a civil seizure warrant and the animals were rescued and taken to the Houston SPCA for evaluation and care.

The case will be heard by a Justice of the Peace in Montgomery County Precinct 5 on May 17, where the Houston SPCA hopes that Ruff N Fluff will be divested of ownership and the Houston SPCA will be given custody so that the animals can continue with their rehabilitation and recovery.
