850 School Supply Packs Donated to Hilliard Elementary
Hindu Charities for America and EPI donate school supply packs to school devastated by the floods from Hurricane Harvey

Hilliard Elementary was one of the hardest hit campuses by the flooding after Hurricane Harvey. Flood waters reached 4 feet high in some buildings and all their school supplies were lost.
On the same day students head back to school for the first time since Hurricane Harvey, school supplies for every student will be delivered that are donated by Hindu Charities for America (HC4A) and Educational Products, Inc. (EPI).
On Monday, September 25, 850 EPI school supply packs will be delivered to the temporary campus for Hilliard Elementary students.

HC4A was founded in 2010 with the purpose of bridging income disparity through education. They have served various ISDs with school supplies for homeless children and vocational training scholarships for those living below the poverty line. The majority of their programs have been in the Austin metro area but have started to expand to the Houston area.
HC4A purchased the school supply packs as part of the EPI Texas Flood Relief matching program. Special school supply packs were developed for children to help them transition back to school during this recovery period. EPI added a 25% donation match to all organizations that purchased these special packs to support families in the community.

“As a company based in Texas for over 35 years, EPI wanted to give families in our community one less thing to worry about during this stressful time,” said Ron Phelan, CEO of EPI. “Many schools and individuals have reached out to EPI to see how they can help. Not only did we want to lend a hand but, we are providing an opportunity for others to offer their support. The EPI 25% matching program is our way to increase the support of others and for us to directly give.”
This program is an extension of the EPI Outreach Program that works with corporations, nonprofits and churches to provide school supplies, backpack, hygiene packs and uniforms for students in their communities.
