9-Year-Old Girl Shot In Houston Road Rage Incident: Police

The girl was shot in the head and taken to the hospital for surgery. She is in critical condition.

HOUSTON, TX — A 9-year-old was shot in the head during a road rage incident Tuesday night on Southwest Freeway, according to the Houston Police Department.

The girl's family was heading to the grocery store shortly after 9 p.m. when their car got caught in between two cars who were racing on Southwest Freeway near Bissonnet Street. A driver in a white GMC Denali shot into the family's car, hitting the girl, according to authorities.

The girl was taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery. She is in critical condition, police said.
