Officials say those found responsible for any violations will be held accountable, while residents continue pushing for fixes.
2. 2 Houston restaurants burglarized days apart, owners say break-ins add to small business struggles (fox26houston.com) — Two Houston restaurants, Trendy Dumpling and The Deck on Fountainview, are reeling after separate early-morning burglaries days apart that caused more than $17,000 in combined losses at The Deck alone. Owners say thieves stole cash, electronics, and liquor while shattering glass and damaging doors, adding strain during an already slow season. Both restaurants remain open as Houston police investigate and one owner upgrades security.
3. Elderly Montrose property owner handcuffed, detained after pulling gun on homeless people (fox26houston.com) — An elderly Houston property owner in Montrose says she was handcuffed and detained after confronting men she believed were camping outside her vacant Westheimer Road building while holding an unloaded gun. Houston ISD police called HPD near Lanier Middle School, and officers detained but did not charge her. She now plans to press Mayor John Whitmire and City Council about homelessness around her properties.
4. How Craig Collins Plans to Make KSEV Mornings Matter (barrettmedia.com) — Morning radio on Houston's KSEV is getting a refresh as Craig Collins joins Wayne Dolcefino to lead a more locally focused show. Collins says they'll dig into under-covered issues affecting Houston and Texas, aiming to explain why those stories matter. He views morning drive as a major responsibility and wants listeners to trust the information they hear.
