Three Houston Harmony Houston North District Students Named "1-in-1,000" National Math Stars

Finding true mathematical talent early on can transform a student's entire academic journey, and three young scholars right here in Houston just hit a major milestone.

Three Harmony Public Schools-Houston North District students have been officially selected for the prestigious National Math Stars (NMS) program, an initiative designed to find second and third graders who demonstrate "1-in-1,000" mathematical ability and support them all the way through high school graduation.

Meet the 2026 Scholars

The program offers two distinct tracks tailored to student learning, both connecting young minds to rigorous coursework and a network of nearly 1,000 top-tier peers across ten states:

• Pathfinder Stars Track:
  • Isha K. – Harmony Science Academy-Bridgeland
  • Sreya S. – Harmony School of Excellence-Houston
• Voyager Stars Track:
  • Darasimi F. – Harmony Science Academy-City Place

For students on the Voyager track, this recognition comes with a massive commitment: more than $100,000 per student over the next decade. That funding covers dedicated math mentorship, high-level coursework, specialized STEM supplies, and summer enrichment programs.
