Houston Best Dressed Luncheon Sets National Records With $1.4 Million Raised, Tables Galore and Sweet Runway Walks (papercitymag.com) — Houston's Best Dressed Luncheon just packed more than 800 guests into the Post Oak Hotel and raised a record-setting $1.4 million for the March of Dimes, the largest such haul nationally. Local honorees, families, and fashion lovers turned the runway into a high-energy celebration, with Houston philanthropists and sponsors stepping up through big-ticket tables and raffle support.
3. Westfield fire chief shares personal story of giving back during Hispanic Heritage Month (fox26houston.com) — A Northeast Harris County fire chief who grew up in East Aldine shares how the Westfield Fire Department gave him direction and now drives his mission to mentor local youth. Regents approve A&M System to bid on management of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab (thebatt.com) — Houston's growing space corridor gets a boost as Texas A&M, which is finishing a $200 million Space Institute near Johnson Space Center, prepares to bid on managing NASA's famed Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Regents just authorized the system to assemble a proposal team, positioning Texas—and Houston's space ecosystem—to play a larger role in future Mars and deep-space missions.
