🌱 Where's Santa + Rice Village Sushi
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Houston.

Wake up, Space City! It's me, Chris, your humble servant of the Houston Daily — coming right back at you with the plug on what's happening. Today, we'll look at:
- Where to find Santa in Houston.
- A violent Uber.
- A new sushi experience in Rice Village.
But first, today's weather:
Warmer with a quick shower. High: 77 Low: 69.
Here are the top stories today in Houston:
- It's Santa season and there are tons of locations throughout Houston where you can snag some pictures of our favorite holiday hero. Unsurprisingly, the large majority of them are malls. Locations where you can find the jolly red saint include Baybrook Mall in Friendswood, Deerbrook Mall, First Colony Mall, The Galleria, Katy Mills Mall, Memorial City Mall, and Willowbrook Mall. Additionally, the second annual Christmas celebration at Big Rivers waterpark will also feature their very own Santa on Friday and Saturday nights through December alongside a petting zoo, free arts and crafts, a sand hill, and a hay pavilion. - An Uber driver was shot by one of his passengers after refusing to take him to a different location. Driver Daniel Teheri had just dropped off four passengers when one demanded to be taken to another location. When Teheri refused these demands, the man pulled out a gun and told him to hand over his keys and phone. Teheri chose not to hand over his belongings which prompted the passenger to open fire. Thankfully, Teheri turned at the last second causing the bullet to miss vital organs. Despite Uber releasing a statement regarding the incident saying they will offer the driver their support, Teheri said, "It's something that I think definitely needs to be controlled. Everybody has access to a gun, and it's not something that's right." (KTRK-TV)
- Speakeasy sushi restaurant Hidden Omakase will soon have a sister restaurant when Hidden Sushi opens for dinner on Dec. 5. Located in Rice Village, Hidden Sushi will function similarly to Hidden Omakase in that it will only serve up to 10 guests at a time. Diners will be served 12 sushi pieces chosen and delivered by Chef Jimmy Kieu as well as a number of other rotating sushi professionals. The restaurant will have a BYOL (bring your own liquor) policy and be decorated with controversial NFT art. Furthermore, guests can expect a sleek, modern aesthetic paired with upbeat music. - HPD are searching for a man accused of shooting a man and woman beneath the Sims Bayou Bridge last night. Police believe that the victims who were shot live beneath the bridge and were fired on as the result of an argument between them and the stranger. Lieutenant R. Willkens said, "He got mad enough that he shot at both of these individuals. We believe both of them were the intended targets. He shot the male and female and then took off running on foot." Police said they believe they know who they are looking for as well as where he might be. Both victims are in the hospital and expected to survive. (KTRK-TV)
- A Netflix crime series documentary is highlighting a string of cold case murders that happened in League City nearly 30 years ago. One of the victims was 16-year-old Laura Miller whose father founded a company named Texas Equusearch in order to help others find lost loved ones. Miller says that the effect the string of unsolved murders had on the area is still palpable even today. He's also adamant that his neighbor, Clyde Hedrick, was responsible. The documentary covers the fact that new evidence has arisen concerning the case that may finally prove Miller's theory right. (KHOU.com)
