🌱 Chinese for Christmas + Bad Bunny Lights
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Houston.

Hello, Houston! It's me, Chris, here in your inbox this morning to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on in town.
But first, today's weather:
Way too cold ❄; breezy in the p.m.. High: 68 Low: 18.
Here are the top stories today in Houston:
- Celebrate this year's holiday season with a change in dining plans by checking out one of the best Chinese restaurants in Houston. Family-owned Fung's Kitchen has been bringing Hong-Kong style Cantonese food to Houston since 1990 and features the unforgettable push cart dim sum experience. While a terrible fire forced the institution to shut down in early 2021, they're wheeling and dealing once again. (Chron)
- Wine connoisseurs rejoice! Here's a list of the restaurants where you can find the best deals on wine in Houston. A'Bouzy off of Westheimer is your go-to space for champagne and other sparkling wines with prices for budgets of all kinds. If you're looking for a great selection, Porta'Vino on Washington has one of the lengthiest wine lists in the city and more than half of their listed bottles sell for less than retail. Lastly, there's always the popular Brasserie 19 in River Oaks though the deals at this spot have become more scarce as the restaurant has risen in notoriety. It's also worth noting that Houston offers better deals on wine than most major American markets. (Houston Chronicle)
- A Houstonian's Christmas display that celebrates Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny is going viral on Tik Tok. The display in question features images of and lyrics from the artist that flash in tandem with Bad Bunny's hit song "Tití me preguntó". Bad Bunny is the #1 listened to artist across Houston via Spotify in 2022. While locals are clamoring for the location of the light experience, owner Frankie To-Ong says that he can't share his home address due to previous experiences with his past light displays driving his neighborhood traffic out of control. - Houston-based Cosmic Ice Cream Co. from Clear Lake is opening a brand new location in Spring Branch this coming January. This burgeoning new ice cream company takes a page from brewery experiences by offering interesting menu items such as cold brew coffee, flights of ice cream, and ice cream cereal bars. The business is run by couple Camille and Julian Hayes who are first-time business owners. Julian said, "Being able to determine how the business operates and being able to create the culture for the business is something that I think we both really enjoy". (Community Impact Newspaper)
- A Honeywell subsidiary is paying $79 million to resolve a bribery investigation originating out of Houston. Special Agent in Charge of the investigation Ramsey E. Covington of the IRS said, "Money is the center of the criminal world and this company became a part of that world when it failed to adhere to national and international laws. It did not live up to the trust placed on it by both the public and its shareholders."(Houston Chronicle)
