Astros Take A 2-1 Lead In World Series With 5-3 Win

Wild second inning at Minute Maid Par leads to Astros win.

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Astros took game three of the World Series beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 at Minute Maid Park in front of a raucous Friday night crowd.

Lance McCullers took the mound for the Astros against the Dodger’s Yu Darvish, who was pulled in the 2nd inning after Astros bats came alive for a 4-0 lead.

The wild second inning began with a Yuli Gurriel homer, followed by singles from Marwin Gonzalez and Alex Bregman.

The Dodgers got on the board in the 3rd when Joc Pederson scored on an RBI when Corey Seager grounded into a double play.

Josh Reddick would score in the 5th inning making the score 5-1, and that’s how it would stay until the 6th inning when Seager would score on an RBI on Yasiel Puig’s ground out, and Justin Turner scored on a wild pitch from reliever Brad Peacock.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ bullpen stayed busy sending a total of six pitchers to the mound for game three, with the Astros relying solely on McCullers and Peacock.

The Astros would hold on to win, earning Peacock his first career save.

Charlie Morton takes the mound for the Astros at 7:20 p.m. Saturday and will face Dodgers Alex Wood.
