AutoNation Chevrolet Gulf Freeway and Harris County Sheriff’s Office Host Free Back-to-School Community Event
Free backpacks, school supplies, family activities and HCSO special units planned for Aug. 15

AutoNation Chevrolet Gulf Freeway, in partnership with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), will host a free Back-to-School Community Event on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at AutoNation Chevrolet Gulf Freeway, 13800 Gulf Freeway in Houston.
The family-friendly event will bring the community together to help local students and families get ready for the new school year. Free backpacks, school supplies, food and snow cones will be available while supplies last, along with games and activities for children and families.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet HCSO deputies and get an up-close look at several special units, including the SWAT Team, Motorist Assistance Program (MAP) Unit and Parks Unit. Families will also meet and take photos with “Chief,” a pony from the HCSO Mounted Patrol.

The back-to-school event reflects AutoNation’s commitment to empowering the younger generation and giving back to the communities where its Associates live and work.
