Bicyclist Hit By METRO Train Near NRG Stadium
It's the second fatal accident in less than a week involving a bicycle and a METRO train.

HOUSTON, TX -- A Houston man was killed Sunday evening after he was hit by a METRO train while riding his bicycle near NRG stadium.
The accident was reported near Fannin Street and Loop 610, and happened shortly after 6 p.m.
According to police, the man was riding westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Loop 610 frontage roads at the time of the accident.

Investigators said the bicyclist turned into the path of a northbound train as he was turning off the frontage road.
The man, who has not been identified, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for emergency surgery for internal injuries, but died in surgery.

On Friday, Rice University Professor Marjorie Corcoran was killed when she was struck by a METRO train while riding her bicycle near Hermann Park.
The accident is still under investigation.
