Here are the top five stories in Houston today:

1. At least 3 homeless residents died on Houston's streets after freezing temperatures passed through the area this week, highlighting a lack of housing access in the community. Those who knew them are mourning their loss. (Houston Chronicle)

2. A Houston man was killed after crashing into a tree on early Saturday morning, according to local authorities. Police say the man was traveling southbound on Wilcrest Drive when he lost control of the vehicle and went into a tree. (KHOU 11)

3. Online review-giant Yelp has named Houston's The Breakfast Klub, located at 3711 Travis Street, among the top Black-owned businesses "to watch" in 2022. The Breakfast Klub is well-known for comfort staples including wings, waffles, catfish, grits, and French toast. The restaurant is one of just 15 restaurants around the nation that made the list. 4. A woman was found dead inside an apartment home at 4 a.m. on Saturday in the Sunnyside area near Callhoun and Jarmese Street. Houston police say a child may have been inside of the apartment at the time of the fatal shooting. (ABC 13)

5. San Jacinto College has announced a lease agreement with Bezos Academy, which will bring a tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschool to the College's North Campus. The school will serve up to 80 students across four classrooms. (San Jacinto College)
