Carjacker Kills Houston Area Mother Of Two In Front Of Family [UPDATED]
Family that followed the SUV that hit their vehicle and ran, was trying to get a license plate number when mother was shot.

(UPDATED) HOUSTON, TX -- The mother of two small children was brutally murdered in front of her family after their car was hit by two people driving a stolen vehicle.
Jessica Lynn Mill, 29, was shot to death Monday night while driving home from a Walmart store with her family
The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. Monday in the a parking lot at Murphy Road and Interstate 69, near the city limits of Stafford and Houston.
Police said Mills, her husband Edward Scott, and their two daughters, had just left the Walmart store in Stafford, when a green or gray Jeep Commander backed into their Ford Explorer and drove off.

Scott told police they followed the vehicle to a parking lot to try and get a license plate number.

When they pulled into the parking lot, the driver of the Jeep got out and began shooting at their SUV, hitting Mills.
Paramedics rushed Mills to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she died a short time later.
The Jeep sped away immediately after the shooting, and may have been followed by several people in a black Honda sedan, her husband told police.
Investigators with the Houston Police Department and Stafford Police Department determined the green Jeep Commander matched the description of one that was carjacked minutes earlier at Kirkwood Drive and West Belfort Drive.
The driver of the Jeep was described as a young black man wearing black pants and a gray hoodie.
The Jeep Commander is bearing Texas license plate CN5X057.
