Casual Thief Caught On Video Stealing Cigarettes

The suspect was caught on video trying to steal cigarettes from a gas station at 2503 Almeda Genoa.

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Police Department is searching for a man caught on video stealing cigarettes from a gas station Oct. 3. The man can be seen at the Timewise at 2503 Almeda Genoa at 5:50 p.m., HPD wrote on YouTube.

The suspect walked up to the counter and asked the clerk for 20 packs of Newport cigarettes. The clerk rang the cigarettes up and was placing them in a bag when the suspect forcibly grabbed the bag and ran out of the store without paying for them, HPD said. The suspect got into a red older model Ford Explorer with no license plates.

The suspect is described as 28 to 33-years-old, 5’3 to 5’4 tall, 230 pounds and has black hair, gray shirt, and blue pants, HPD said.
