HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Perez and A. Barr reported:
On November 8, HPD patrol officers responded to a home invasion at an apartment at the above address and determined two black male suspects knocked on the door claiming to be selling a computer. When one of the victims opened the door, the suspects forced entry at gunpoint and robbed the occupants of the residence. Before leaving, the suspects shot Messrs. Lane and Nealey as they were lying on the floor. Paramedics pronounced Lane deceased at the scene and Nealey was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.
Further investigation identified Johnson as a suspect in this case. Last Friday (November 22), Johnson was arrested on an unrelated charge and on Saturday (November 23) he was charged for his role in this incident.
Anyone with information on the second wanted suspect in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
