Cinco de Mayo 2017: What’s Happening In Houston This Weekend
Looking for something to do? Check all the fun happening in your neck of the woods this weekend.
HOUSTON, TX — Cinco de Mayo weekend is here, and while most Americans celebrating the Mexican holiday will do so with copious amounts of alcohol, there will be plenty of other events this weekend.
- Cinco de Mayo at Historic Market Square | Free Admission– Get your Cinco de Mayo festivities going with live performances by Gio Chamba, Chido Machine and more at Market Square Park in Downtown. 6pm to 10pm.

- Cinco de Mayo at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Free Admission – Bring the whole family and enjoy live music from Tlen-Huicani and Villalobos Brothers at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 7:30pm.
- Tomball’s 6th Annual Rails and Tails Mudbug Festival | Admission is Free — Two days honoring the tasty crawfish through food, song and activities. Live music both days featuring headliner Waylon Thibodeaux on Saturday and the Fab 5 closing out the fun on Sunday. Also performing are Troy Hess & the Texas Heartbreakers, the Bottle Rockers, Silverado and The Powell Brothers. Boudin Ball eating contest, live crawfish racing, kids zone and more. TV's "Daytripper", Chet Garner will be on-site Saturday, May 6th to meet-and-greet his fans, too! The Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival is sponsored in-part by the new Residence Inn - Tomball. - LULAC District VIII Cinco de Mayo Parade in Downtown | Admission is Free– Enjoy Mexican culture as LULAC District 8 and Telemundo Houston present a festive Cinco de Mayo parade at Minute Maid Park in Downtown. 10am.
- Conroe Americana Music Festival| The Conroe Americana Music Festival is a grassroots premier festival featuring a mix of Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Folk, Texas Country, Roots Rock, Blues, and Americana music. Established through the Conroe Downtown Area Association (501c4) the proceeds of the festival will be used to enhance the Historic Downtown Conroe area with improved signing and beautification projects. The 3 Day Music Festival will feature over 50 bands in 6 venues beginning Friday, May 5, 2017 at 6:00pm – midnight, noon-midnight Saturday, May 6, and Noon-6:00pm Sunday, May 7, 2017.Tickets and Day Passes can be purchased here

- 83rd Annual Holy Trinity Strawberry Festival| Dickinson,TX| Free Admission — May 6, 2017 11:00:00 AM to 05:00:00 PM The Strawberry Festival at Holy Trinity is an annual tradition that began in 1930. This is truly a church-wide event that requires every able-bodied person to pitch in. Over 80 years of consecutive festivals have brought the Dickinson and surrounding areas to our campus to enjoy strawberry shortcake, barbecue plates, games, face-painting, crafts and other items for purchase, baked goods, live music, and so much more. Each year brings a new opportunity to invite our larger community to Holy Trinity.
- 9th Annual Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival| The annual Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival returns with exciting new additions. Last year's event included 25 vineyards, over 130 different varietals of wine and over 25 vendors. Also, Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine will be doing a cooking demonstration && a book signing so don't miss out on this amazing opportunity.

- Texas Vintage Fair: Free Admission| Humble Civic Center: Texas Vintage Festival is a Celebration of all things Vintage, Antique, Retro and Unique that takes place over two weekends in two locations in the northeast and northwest corners of the metropolitan Houston area. The first event takes place at Humble Civic Arena in Humble, TX on the weekend of May 6 and 7. Texas Vintage Festival brings together hundreds of booths selling antiques, retro and vintage crafts, decor, funky junk, fashions, artisan foods, fine art, garage sale items, jewelry, handmade items, mancave decor, electronics, yard art, and more! In addition to hundreds of booths, there will also be craft beer and wine tastings, classic car show, a pin-up fashion show, live music by the area's best tributes to the likes of Elvis, Johnny Cash, The Blues Brothers, The Beatles and more, a huge kids zone with rides and games, a rumble of food trucks and more.
