City Issues Boil Water Notice For Northeast Houston Residents
A drinking water advisory is being issued for residents in the vicinity of Will Clayton Parkway in northeast Houston.

HOUSTON, TX — The City of Houston has issued a boil water notice for residents in the northeast Houston area, including areas west of Humble and Kingwood, including Aldine and Greenspoint.
City officials confirmed Monday that the public works department had completed repairing a 66-inch (5.5-foot diameter) water main located near Beltway 8 North and US 59.
Although the city knows of no resulting quality problems with the water supply to the area, a drinking water advisory is being issued for residents in the vicinity of Will Clayton Parkway, near George Bush Intercontinental Airport, until final water samples are confirmed to meet state drinking water standards.

Due to reduced distribution system pressure and low disinfection residuals, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Houston Main Water System notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption, washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking.
Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
City leaders advise anyone with any questions call 311.
