Cold Case Murder Of Kingwood Couple Stymies Investigators
Couple lived a quiet life in Kingwood and were well-liked in their community.

KINGWOOD, TX -- It’s been more than two years since Reda and Don Rentz were found bludgeoned to death in their home in the exclusive Kings River subdivision.
Two years since the friendly couple, who’d sent nearly 60 years together, were brutally murdered, presumably by a complete stranger.
The couple had a romance that began when the two were in high school, and produced two children and two grandchildren. (For news updates on this story and other news in Humble-Kingwood, just click here to get Patch's daily newsletter and free, real-time news alerts).

Both were active members of Second Baptist Church, and active in the Kingwood community.
The couple were last seen in their driveway on Feb. 26, 2015 by neighbors.
However, days passed and neighbors and Rentz children became concerned when the couple hadn’t been seen or heard from in days.
The family contacted a neighbor, who walked over and found the back door unlocked and called police.
The investigation yielded little in the way of evidence.
The couple had been brutally beaten and the home ransacked, but nothing else.
The murder shocked the Kingwood community, and devastated a family.
