Constable’s Arrest “John Doe” Who Looted Flooded Homes

SPRING, TX — Deputy constables who were responding to a burglary call in the 2800 block of Cypress Island on Tuesday, arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted deputies when he was caught inside a flooded Spring home.

Deputies arrived in just over one minute after receiving the call, when they got to the home they discovered the front door was open due to the recent flooding in the area and found the man inside the home. The man, who refused to identify himself, allegedly fought with deputies and was taken into custody.

During their investigation, deputies found stolen property from the home in the man’s possession, as well as items deputies believe came from other homes in the area.

“The suspect refused to provide any identification and was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail under the name “John Doe,’” Constable Mark Herman said. “He was charged with Burglary of a Habitation during a Natural Disaster and Assault on a Public Servant out of the 232nd District Court.”

Deputies have not indicated how much stolen property was recovered.

Additional criminal charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
