Body Of Missing Man Found Outside Texas Medical Center

Stanley Spigel, 73, was found dead outside the Texas Medical Center Wednesday. He'd been reported missing on Tuesday, police said.

HOUSTON — Houston Police are investigating after a body was found at a construction site Wednesday morning at the Texas Medical Center.

Construction crews in the 6400 block of Fannin Street found the body of a white man, who was later identified as Stanley Spigel, 73.

Police were called to the Texas Medical Center at about 6:30 a.m. According to investigators, the man was not connected to the hospital or the construction site.

Officials said Spigel suffered a head injury, which may have caused his death. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Further investigation determined that family members had reported Spigel missing to HPD and was last seen on Tuesday near the above address.

The cause and manner of Spigel's death is undetermined at this time. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
