Details Emerge In Alleged Gang-Related Satanic Killing Of Houston Area Teenager

Authorities convinced they've identified the body of the girl found Feb. 16, believe it could be Genesis listed in court documents

HOUSTON, TX -- New details are beginning to emerge in the case of two alleged members of the violent El Salvadoran MS-13 gang who are accused in the satanic killing of an unidentified girl.

Police said Friday they may have identified the body of a teenage girl found on Feb. 16 in the 9900 block of Sharpcrest Street, and that she could be same girl identified as Genesis by a 14-year old kidnapping victim.

Miguel Angle Alvarez-Flores, and Diego Alexander Hernandez-Rivera, alleged embers of the MS-13 gang, are accused of kidnapping and murder.

On Wednesday, Miguel Angel Alvarez-Flores, 22, and Diego Alexander Hernandez-Rivera, 18, who claim to be members of the infamous MS-13 gang were in court and were charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of murder in the shooting death of the unidentified girl..

Emily Detoto, the court appointed attorney representing Hernandez-Rivera, said she hasn’t had a chance to review the evidence and had very little to say initially about the case or the charges against her client.

“From what I have heard from the prosecutor this is a pretty bad case,” she said. “ She [the prosecutor] said there is some type of statement. I have not seen any statement. I don’t know if this was video recorded, audio recorded, so I can’t speak to that. All I can just tell you is that he ‘s facing two very serious charges and his bonds were set each at $150,000.”

According to evidence presented in Wednesday’s hearing, both Hernandez-Rivera and Alvarez-Flores confessed to police their involvement in the kidnappings and the subsequent murder when they were arrested Feb. 27.

According to court records, a 14-year old girl told prosecutors of being kidnapped on Feb. 2, and being held captive for 18 days.

In court records, the victim said another girl she knew as Genesis was with her, until she disappeared after speaking out against the satanic worship.

When police arrested Hernandez-Rivera and Alvarez-Flores on Monday, they also searched their apartment and found evidence of satanic worship, according to court documents

Harris County Assistant District Attorney Lisa Collins said there are still a lot of areas of the case that are being investigated, such as how the girls were chosen and influenced by the gang members, and the motive for the alleged killing.

Officials also said that Hernandez-Rivera and Alvarez-Flores are in the U.S. illegally, and have had an ICE detainer placed on their bond, which means even if they make bond, the cannot be released.
