Free Admission At These Houston Museums This Weekend

Snag a free ticket to visit one of these Houston museums this weekend. Here's how.

HOUSTON, TX — If you’re looking for a fun and free activity for the weekend, consider a trip to one of Houston's museums. Saturday, Sept. 22 is “Museum Day” and admission to more than 1,500 museums in the country, including 10 in Houston, are free.

“Museum Day” is an annual event put together by the Smithsonian Magazine and includes participating museums in all 50 states. According to the Smithsonian, participants can download one ticket per email address that provides free general admission for two people.

DiverseWorks, hours: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (free everyday)

Dunham Bible Museum, hours: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (free everyday)

Houston Bicycle Museum, hours: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, hours: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (free everyday)

Houston Maritime Museum, hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

John P McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science, hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m

Lone Star Flight Museum, hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
