Fun Things To Do In Houston This Weekend

HOUSTON, TX — The weekend is nigh and if you’re looking for family freebie events this weekend, or just want to get out and enjoy your community, then there are plenty pre-Independence Day events happening in Greater Houston, and possibly in your neighborhood.
- Can You Play A Mean Air Guitar?: Friday, June 23| Houston TX: Head to Avant Garden Friday, June 23, for the U.S. Air Guitar Championship competition 8:30 pm – 11 pm. - Have Two Left Feet?: Friday, June 23| Houston, TX: Come on down to the Downtown Aquarium and get your salsa dancing on with these free danced lessons. Learn from professional dance instructors from 7 pm – 11 pm.
- Tomball Farmer’s Market: Saturday, June 24| Tomball, TX: Located at 205 W. Main St. on the corner of Main Street (FM 2920) and Walnut Street in Downtown Tomball two blocks west of the railroad tracks, you will find plenty of free parking. Tomball Farmers Market is a registered nonprofit and works as a cooperative effort of local families dedicated to providing the highest quality food and handmade products to our community.
- Houston Pride Parade: Saturday, June 24| Houston, TX: Texas’ largest LGTB Pride Celebration. The day of festivities kicks off with the Pride Festival from 12 pm to 7 pm at Hermann Square in front of City Hall. The parade followed at 8:30 pm along a route through the western edge of Downtown.
- Like Sports? Score Tickets to the Houston Dynamo or Houston Astros for games this weekend!
- Summer Camp Anyone?: Play at summer camp — Saturday, June 24|Katy and Pearland: Family Summer Camp at Bass Pro Shops includes free activities for kids the entire weekend! This also has family workshops on fishing, water safety, camping, animals in the wild and more. Bass Pro Shops has two Houston-area locations in Katy (5000 Katy Mills Circle) and Pearland (1000 Basspro Drive).
- Whiskey+Beer+Tacos|Sunday, June 25|Houston, TX: Looking a great way to end your weekend? Mosey on down to Eight Row Flint from noon to 3p.m. Enjoy tacos from Eight Row Flint paired with WhistlePig rye and and Saint Arnold brews at this afternoon event at the upscale icehouse. Tickets are $50
- Last Sundays at Rockstar Gallery |Sunday, June 25| Houston, TX: Get your fix of live music, improv, and more at this muy trendy indoor art festival 1-5 p.m. It’s Free, too.
