Harmony Public Schools Celebrates Milestone Beam Signing for First Missouri City Campus
HPS Puts Roots Down in Missouri City with Beam Signing Ceremony for First Local Campus.
MISSOURI CITY, Texas — Harmony Public Schools officially celebrated a major step in its expansion into Fort Bend County on Sept. 3, holding a beam signing ceremony for Harmony Science Academy-Missouri City – Elementary, the public charter school system’s first campus in the community.
Local civic leaders, community partners, and school administrators gathered at the construction site at 12010 Highway 6 to sign their names and write words of encouragement on a structural steel beam. The beam will be permanently installed in the building, leaving a lasting mark from the community for future generations of students.

Attendees included Missouri City Mayor Robin J. Elackatt, former Mayor Allen Owen, Mayor Pro Tem Lynn Clouser, members of the Missouri City Council, and representatives from the office of State Rep. Ron Reynolds. Members of the Harmony Advisory Committee, local business partners, and leaders from Harmony’s district and central offices were also present to mark the occasion.
"Opening our first Harmony Public School in Missouri City marks more than a new campus; it represents our commitment to expanding opportunity, inspiring curiosity and building strong STEM pathways for every student we serve," said Ramazan Coskuner, South-West district superintendent for Harmony Public Schools.

The new elementary school is situated on a 28-acre site, serving as the first phase of a master-planned project that will eventually feature an adjacent middle and high school campus.
Scheduled to open for the 2027–28 school year, the elementary campus will serve 650 students in grades prekindergarten through fifth. The state-of-the-art facility will feature a hands-on makerspace, specialized science labs, and interactive play areas designed to support project-based learning.
Harmony Public Schools operates as a Texas Education Agency-recognized, A-rated public charter system. While heavily focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, Harmony’s curriculum also emphasizes character education, project-based learning, and college readiness.
