Homeowner Fatally Shoots Car Burglar

A suspected burglar was shot and killed Tuesday night when he was caught breaking into a pickup: Police

HOUSTON, TX — A man who was caught breaking into a man's pickup in northeast Houston was shot and killed by the owner of the vehicle.

Police were called to the 7400 block of Langley in northeast Houston for a shooting.

Investigators said that the homeowner was in his home at about 11 p.m.,when he heard a noise outside in his driveway.

The homeowner told police he looked outside ande saw a man breaking into his pickup, so he gor hi9s gun and went outside.

According to a KPRC report, the homeowner began yelling at the man, and a fight between the two started.

During that fight, the homeowner shot the thief, who was pronounced dead by EDMS personnel.

Police questioned the homeowner who said he did not know the man breaking into his pickup.

Police are waiting to etermine of charges will be filed against the homeowner.

The identity of the homeowner and the suspect have not been released.
