Houston Fire Department To Honor Bill Dowling With Heroes Escort
Iron Bill Dowling died as a result of injuries he sustained in the Southwest Inn fire that killed four firefighters on May 31, 2013.

HOUSTON, TX -- Fire department personnel from Colorado, New Mexico and Texas will all play a role in escorting the body of Houston Fire Department Captain William “Iron Bill” Dowling from Durango, Colorado, to Houston, Texas this weekend.
The procession will begin Saturday morning in Durango, Colorado at Hood Mortuary, at 8 a.m., MST, and end at the Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas at 7:30 p.m.

Dowling died Tuesday from injuries he suffered as a result of the Southwest Inn fire on May 31, 2013, that took the lives of four fellow firefighters, and injured 12 others.
He will receive a heroes welcome from the Houston Fire Department, who will escort Dowling on his final ride from Houston’s Hobby Airport, to Klein Funeral Home.
