Houston May Get 8 Inches Of Rain This Week: Expect Flooding
A tropical disturbance in the Gulf is expected to cause some major storms and flooding this week in Houston.

HOUSTON, TX — A tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico moving north is expected to bring tons of rain over the next days, with as much as eight inches falling on Houston between Monday and Thursday
The coast near Bay City and Victoria are expected to be hit the hardest, with 10 to 12 inches of rain possible between Monday and Thursday.
The National Weather Service reports locally heavy rain and tropical funnel clouds are possible Monday, and we should prepare for flooding. The rain will be joined by thunderstorms for much of the week.

Click2Houston reports some waves of rain could dump up to two inches in an hour, which could result in heavy flooding in some areas. The recent dry conditions should help keep flooding localized, and officials don't expect the river ways to be much of a problem.
