Houston Missing Child Found, Suspect Charged With Sex Trafficking

An Amber Alert for a Houston teen was canceled Thursday after authorities found her. A suspect in her disappearance has been charged.

HOUSTON, TX — An Amber Alert was canceled after authorities found a missing 13-year-old girl from Houston on Thursday.

Leilana Graham was found and taken to a hospital to be evaluated, and Sha Kendrick Smith, a suspect in her disappearance, was arrested in Montgomery County and charged with sex trafficking of a minor in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, according to court documents.

Smith, a 22-year-old man from Conroe, is accused of having a 13-year-old girl, designated "MV" in court documents, engage in commercial sex. It is not clear if MV is connected with Graham.

More information on Graham's status and the nature of her disappearance will be released later, authorities said.

Graham was last seen in northeast Houston on Sept. 20 before her disappearance, and an Amber Alert was issued for her Tuesday night.
