Houston PD: Investigation Into Fatal Crash At 4600 Yale Street

A motorcyclist critically injured in a crash at 4600 Yale Street about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday (May 3) has died from his injuries.

May 5, 2020 - A motorcyclist critically injured in a crash at 4600 Yale Street about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday (May 3) has died from his injuries.

The male victim, 53, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where, on Monday (May 4), he was pronounced deceased. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer C. Dinh reported:

The driver of a black Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on Norview Drive when he ran a stop sign and struck the motorcyclist traveling northbound on Yale Street at the above address. An off-duty HPD sergeant witnessed the crash and reported the driver briefly remained at the scene before backing up and attempting to leave. The sergeant, driving an unmarked HPD vehicle, activated his emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop in a nearby gas station parking lot. The driver stated he was trying to move off the roadway.

There are no charges in this incident, pending further investigation.
