Houston PD Investigation Into Fatal Crash At 4705 Telephone Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4705 Telephone Road about 7 a.m. on Monday (May 25).

The male victim, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Senior Police Officer R. Saenz reported:

The victim was driving a white Ford F-250 pickup truck westbound on Briefway Street when he failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway, and traveled more than 150 feet before striking a business. The victim was ejected from the pickup truck, landed inside the building, and was partially covered by debris from the damaged building wall.

According to witnesses, the driver may have struck a light pole and tree about two blocks east of the above address and been trying to flee that scene.

The investigation is continuing.
