Houston PD: Investigation Into Fatal Crash At 5800 Eastex Freeway

April 30, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5800 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday (April 29).
The identity of the male victim, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer M. Burton reported:
The victim, operating a black Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle, was traveling southbound on the Eastex Freeway exit ramp in order to travel eastbound on the North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East). While traveling at a high rate of speed, the motorcycle struck a concrete railing on the ramp. The victim was ejected from the motorcycle and, after being transported to an area hospital, pronounced deceased.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
