Houston PD Investigation Into Fatal Crash At 7000 North Loop East

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7000 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) service road about 4 a.m. today (May 26).

The victim, Donald Carter, 43, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer R. Romo reported:

The victim was driving a silver Honda Accord eastbound on the 610 North Loop when he exited the freeway and began traveling on the service road. The victim lost control of the vehicle in the rainy weather conditions and struck an 18-wheeler's trailer, which was parked with its hazard lights activated on the south shoulder of the service road.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased. The truck driver was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
