April 13, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 8700 Telephone Road about 1:55 p.m. last Friday (April 10).

The victim, David Montemayor, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer E. Morgado reported:

Mr. Montemayor was driving a gray Audi A5 northbound on Telephone Road and was making a left turn onto Sandgate when he was struck by a brown Toyota Tundra traveling southbound on Telephone Road. A preliminary investigation indicated the Audi turned in front of the Toyota before it was struck. Witnesses stated the driver of the Toyota may have been traveling at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the Toyota, who showed no signs of impairment, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
