Houston PD Investigation Into Fatal Shooting At 6918 Landor Street

The identity of the deceased victim, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one woman and the wounding of two others at 6918 Landor Street about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday (May 20).

The identity of the deceased victim, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Sturdivant and Detective E. May reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and found three females inside with gunshot wounds. Two females were transported by paramedics to an area hospital in stable condition. The third female, determined to be pregnant, was pronounced deceased.

While investigators were on the scene, an assault occurred at 7106 Hedgewood Drive, where a man was shot multiple times. The victim was transported by paramedics to an area hospital where doctors expect him to survive.

Further investigation led investigators to a truck stop at 4892 F.M. 1960 East, where a male suspect was barricaded in a tractor-trailer truck. HPD SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams responded to the scene and, after a brief standoff, the suspect fatally shot himself. The deceased suspect was identified as Kendrick Thomas (b/m, 30).

The investigation is continuing.
