Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 6628 Avenue P about 12:45 a.m. today (May 6).

May 7, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 6628 Avenue P about 12:45 a.m. today (May 6).
The suspect, Joseph Padilla (H/m, 30), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 263rd State District Court. A booking photo of Padilla is attached to this news release.

The victim, 39, was transported to an area hospital, where doctors expect him to survive.

HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing at a residence at the above address and determined two roommates had gotten into an argument. The argument escalated and one of the men (Padilla) stabbed the other.
Padilla was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
