Houston PD: Suspect Arrested, Charged In Fatal Crash At 1800 Reed Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 1800 Reed Road about 4:20 p.m. on Monday (May 4).

May 5, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 1800 Reed Road about 4:20 p.m. on Monday (May 4).

The suspect, Joshua Demond Neal (b/m, 42), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 174th State District Court. A booking photo of Neal, who is hospitalized, is not available at this time.

The identity of the male victim, 52, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Suspect Neal was driving a white Cadillac DeVille westbound at the above address at a high rate of speed. Upon approaching the Almeda Road intersection, he struck the rear of a white Acura SUV and a blue Nissan Sentra stopped at a red light, killing the driver of the Acura. The Cadillac then crashed through a cinder block wall and struck a metal dumpster on the other side of the wall.

Neal and other persons injured in the crash were transported to area hospitals. Neal was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently charged.
