May 5, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 5900 Scott Street about 10 p.m. on Sunday (May 3).
The suspect, James D. Anderson (b/m, 68), is currently charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #6. A booking photo of Anderson is attached to this news release.

The identity of the female victim, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Anderson was driving a gold Volvo S-60 northbound at the above address when his vehicle struck a female pedestrian walking in the same direction on Scott Street. Paramedics transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced her deceased at the hospital on Monday (May 4).
Anderson was determined to be intoxicated and he was initially charged with driving while intoxicated before the victim was pronounced dead. The investigation is continuing with upgraded charges possible.
