Houston PD: Suspect Arrested, Charged In Fatal Shooting At 301 West Little York Road

The victim, Darlene Solis, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

May 1, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 301 West Little York Road about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday (April 30).

The suspect, Corey Lewis Campbell (b/m, 31), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. A photo of Campbell is not currently available.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and M. Casso reported:

HPD patrol officers were dispatched to the above address and found Ms.Solis fatally shot in her apartment.

HPD Homicide Division detectives began working with the case with cooperation from the Harris County Sheriff's Department.

Further investigation led to the identification of Solis' ex-boyfriend, Campbell, as a suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged with her murder.

This afternoon (May 1), Campbell was arrested without incident in Forsyth County, North Carolina. HPD homicide detectives will now travel to North Carolina to continue the investigation.
