Houston PD: Suspect Arrested, Charged In Fatal Shooting At 9118 Shagbark Drive

May 4, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9118 Shagbark Drive about 11:20 p.m. on Saturday (May 2).

The suspect, Quinten D. Tyler (b/m, 26), is charged with manslaughter in the 248th State District Court. A booking photo of Tyler is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Roberts and J. Escobar reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Jones deceased.

Detectives learned Jones and suspect Tyler were alone inside the residence at the time of the shooting. Tyler told investigators he was in possession of a firearm and accidentally shot Jones. Evidence at the scene appeared to support Tyler's statement of it being an unintentional shooting.

Tyler was arrested and subsequently charged for his role in Jones' death.
