Houston PD: Suspect Arrested, Charged In Shooting At 1818 Lingard Park Court

The suspect, Lovodges Heggins (b/m, 63), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 174th State District Court.

May 11, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a woman that occurred at 1818 Lingard Park Court about 10:05 p.m. on Sunday (May 10).

The suspect, Lovodges Heggins (b/m, 63), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 174th State District Court. A booking photo of Heggins is attached to this news release.

The victim, Beverly Byrd, 53, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Sergeant J. Dodson and Officer A. Ferrell reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found Ms. Byrd at a nearby residence with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim had been fighting with Heggins, her live-in boyfriend, when he shot her. Heggins was arrested at the scene.
