Houston PD: Suspect Arrested, Charged In Shooting At 5643 Gessner Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect in the shooting of a woman at 5643 Gessner Road about 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday (April 21).

April 22, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect in the shooting of a woman at 5643 Gessner Road about 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday (April 21).

The suspect, Lakeisha Martinez (b/f, 31) is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct- discharging a firearm, and tampering/fabricating evidence in the 228th State District Court. A photo of Martinez is not currently available, pending further investigation.

The victim, Crysti Ceasar, 25, was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening wounds.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Althaus and Z. Brumley reported:

Ms. Ceasar was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot of a convenience store at the above address when suspect Martinez parked next to her and brandished a pistol. Fearing for her life, Ceasar drove forward and was shot by Martinez.

Responding HPD officers arrested Martinez at the scene.
