Houston’s Big Four Accounting Firms Combat Childhood Hunger at 4th Annual Food Fight
EY, KPMG and PwC Volunteers Fill Thousands of Food Sacks with Nutritious Meals as Part of the Houston Food Bank's Backpack Buddy Program
Members of the Big Four accounting firms in Houston —EY, KPMG LLP and PwC US —came together on Friday, October 28th, to battle childhood hunger at the 4th Annual Food Fight. As many as 120 dedicated volunteers filled 7,920 food sacks with 47,520 nutritious meals as part of the Houston Food Bank’s Backpack Buddy program, created to feed children during weekends and holidays when many go hungry with no access to meals provided at school.
“A little friendly competition isn’t a bad thing, especially when it is in the name of fighting hunger,” says Brian Greene, president/CEO of the Houston Food Bank. “While the businesses participating in the Big Four Food Fight are competing companies in the business world, they are united in their support of Houston Food Bank and understand that together they can make a big impact on feeding hungry children. We are grateful for their time and generosity.”
