Houston Texans To Make Andre Johnson First Ring Of Honor Inductee

HOUSTON, TX — Andre Johnson had a lot of career firsts after being selected third overall by the Houston Texans in the 2003 draft.

On Nov. 19, Johnson will enjoy another first when he becomes the first Texans player to be inducted into the Ring of Honor at NRG stadium.

Johnson, a seven-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver, retired April 19 after signing a one-day contract with the Houston Texans.

Over the course of his career, Johnson scored 64 touchdowns, amassed 13,597 receiving yards, and caught 1,012 passes, KHOU reported.

Johnson, who holds nearly every receiving record with the Texans, spent his first 12 years as a pro with the organization, before playing the 2015 season with the Indianapolis Colts, and part of the 2016 season with the Tennessee Titans.

Johnson announced his retirement mid-way through the 2016 season.

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans also announces themes for each of their home games for the 2017-2018 season, according to their website.

The Texans 2017 home game themes include:

• Aug. 31 (preseason) vs. Cowboys: Texans Care
• Sept. 10 vs. Jaguars: Liberty White Out

• Oct. 15 vs. Browns: Deep Steel Sunday
• Nov. 5 vs. Colts: Salute to Service
• Nov. 19 vs. Cardinals: Homecoming/Andre Johnson Ring of Honor induction
• Dec. 10 vs. 49ers: Battle Red Day
• Dec. 25 vs. Steelers: Fan Appreciation Day
